Alabama Democrats Lose Beloved Stalwart
Mary Guerra, a local union fixture known as a staunch supporter of workers and the "Buy American" campaign, died Saturday. She was 64.
Guerra was president of the Shoals Democratic Club and Shoals chapter of the American Foundation of Democratic Women, treasurer of the state Foundation of Democratic Women and secretary-treasurer of the Shoals Labor Council. Click here to read entire article.
Services:
There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, January 6th at 2 p.m. at Tri-cities Memorial Gardens (Hwy 72 in Florence just east of Office Depot on the North side of Hwy 72).
The family will receive friends at the Nitrate City Church of the Nazarene (located just off of 2nd Street east of Muscle Shoals) following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN or to the Shoals Democratic Club (505 Bainbridge Rd, Muscle Shoals, AL 35661).
