COMMENDING AMERICAN FORCES IN IRAQ, THEIR FAMILIES, AND GENERAL DAVID PETRAEUS.
WHEREAS, noted with utmost admiration and deep appreciation is the devoted service and inspiring sacrifice of our American Armed Forces in Iraq; and
WHEREAS, these young women and men are bravely committed to the mission assigned, and without complaint or compromise have fulfilled their duties and responsibilities in an exemplary manner; and
WHEREAS, the families of our Armed Forces are also acknowledged for their efforts on our behalf; we recognize that the performance of the daily tasks of life without the assistance of loved ones who are serving in Iraq is also a valued contribution and noble commitment to our country and certainly worthy of our praise; and
WHEREAS, the current Commanding General Multi-National Force-Iraq, is General David Petraeus, who with ingenuity, intelligence, and inspiration has admirably directed our troops; an eminently competent and capable military officer, his astute and able leadership is proudly recognized and sincerely respected by all Alabamians; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the American Forces in Iraq, their families at home, and General David Petraeus are highly commended for their dedicated and devoted service to our nation. A copy of this resolution shall be provided to General Petraeus, so that our supreme admiration and sincere appreciation may be formally and fully conveyed to his troops and their families.
